• deliver projects with more successful outcomes
• utilize scoping techniques to avoid scope creep
• develop effective schedules with the commitment of the team
• manage project risks effectively and reduce issues
• create superior communication plans
This Project Management Fundamentals workshop helps participants understand the significance of project management disciplines required to increase the likelihood of success while reducing risks. This workshop not only covers best practice theory and principles but also provides hands-on activities to demonstrate how they can be applied on projects or indeed day-to-day activities.
The topics covered during the course include:
• defining project versus operational work
• scoping out a project
• time management principles
• risk management techniques
• communication tools
Key scaleable tools and techniques are examined in light of how they can be applied in large, complex projects but also how they can be effectively implemented in small, simple initiatives.
A training manual including course activities and hand-outs is provided during the course. Complementary tools and templates for use on projects will be sent after completion of the workshop.
The Course will be facilitated by Angela Chellas.
Angela is a very passionate, energetic and inspirational international facilitator and speaker. Her extensive and ongoing project experience ensures that participants of her project workshops receive a mixture of theory, actual examples of their application and practical tips.
For over 20 years Angela has helped numerous global organisations increase their project management capability and improve efficiencies in their delivery. Her experience in the field ensures that she is able to not only provide students with an understanding of the principles of project management but also give examples of how these can produce successful outcomes on projects. On every new project and program she is constantly learning new skills and techniques which helps keep her workshops current and relevant.
Angela has a Bachelor of Arts, a Post Graduate Certificate of Marketing and an Advanced Diploma of Project Management. In 2001 she became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and member of the Project Management Institute. She is a PRINCE2 Practitioner and holds Project+ certification with CompTIA. Angela has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is also a Myers Briggs accredited facilitator. She sat on the Board of Project Management Institute Sydney Chapter for two years and Nominating Committee for three years.
This is a fun, interactive and practical workshop with useful discussions to collaborate and learn with peers. This participative approach ensures all participants have the confidence to apply relevant tools and techniques immediately.

- anyone thinking of getting involved in projects
Participants of this workshop are eligible to apply for up to 16 PDU points directly with relevant external parties. This short course is not a qualification recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
